TRACKING: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Through 6 AM

A watch has been issued for Floyd and Mitchell Counties through 6 AM. The watch may be expanded as a line of storms approaches.

There is a chance for a few storms overnight with a better chance for storms being across northern Iowa. If you don’t have storms it will be a warm and humid night with areas of fog as the wind will be light. We continue the chance for storms Wednesday and Wednesday night with a better chance occurring across northern Iowa. There is a potential for a few inches of rain across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota through Friday evening. Well Thursday evening since it will be dry Friday.

It remains warm and humid through Thursday with Friday becoming more comfortable.

A cold front is forecast to move through Iowa Thursday with a good chance of shower/storms for all of eastern Iowa. The best chance will during the afternoon and evening. There is a potential for some of the storms to be severe. Here is the outlook as of now. Some adjustments to this will be made as we get closer to the day.

Friday is dry, cooler and less humid. It is also going to be breezy during the day. High school football games will be dry and comfortable.
