TRACKING: Increasing humidity and storm chances

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Mostly cloudy overnight as temperatures drop into the 50s with a gentle northeast breeze.

Thursday is going to be a nice day with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures comfortably in the 70s for highs and humidity level the lowest it will be in the next 5 days. Thursday night is dry with a chance of showers/storms Friday.

A warm front and cold front will move through Iowa slowly Friday through Monday. This will give us several chances of storms during this time. Timing of the the rain will be best know 24 hours out. Anything behind that is going to a bit iffy. The chance is there but the timing is almost impossible to know several days out.

The humidity level will increase through Friday and be humid. It will remain really muggy through the week and into early next week.

A warm front will lift north Friday with a chance of severe storms. Late afternoon or evening is the best chance at this time. There will be a lot of moisture in the atmosphere at that time. Where storms do form, heavy rain is possible.
