Isolated showers and storms are moving south this afternoon in eastern Iowa. The western part of the state in sunny. Temperatures across the state are in the 60s and 70s.
The showers will end quickly early this evening and then the sky turns clear. The clear sky continues through the night. It is going to be a chilly night with lows dropping into the 40s. Near record lows are expected in Dubuque. The rest of the area will come short of any records by a few degrees.
The wind becomes light this evening and remains that way for the overnight and through Thursday. A cool but pleasant Thursday is on the way with a sunny sky. Thursday night is not a chilly with lows dropping into the low 50s.
Friday is a windy day with gusts to 30 mph from the southwest. Temperatures are a little warmer with a slight chance of an afternoon showers. The chance of showers/storms increases Friday night and continues through most of Saturday. Sunday is mainly dry but an isolated storm can’t be ruled out. Highs are in the upper 70s this weekend.
