This afternoon has been sunny with temperatures in the 70s. Some locations have above normal temperatures. There are widespread 80s in Nebraska and we will see 80s in eastern Iowa Thursday.
A beautiful evening is ahead with a light breeze, temperatures falling into the 60s and a clear sky. The sky remains clear overnight with lows by morning above normal.
The wind is light tonight then increases a bit Thursday from the southwest.
There is a chance for a few showers and an isolated storm during the early morning hours. The best chance of this would be north and east of Waterloo. Once that passes by, most of the day is dry and heats up into the 80s. It is also going to be humid in the afternoon. Dew points will be in the 60s. There is a potential for storms overnight across eastern Iowa. If the storms develop some could be severe before midnight Thursday night. Hail, strong winds and heavy rain will be associated with the storms. Here is the outlook area for the possible severe storms.
Showers and storms are more likely Friday. The rain and an east wind will keep our temperatures cooler with highs in the 60s.
More showers and storms are possible Saturday and Sunday before we get a break Monday. Another storm system is forecast to impact us with showers and storms Tuesday into Wednesday. Several inches of rain still remains possible across the state through the middle of next week.
