Overall, Friday is not going to be a bad January day. Increasing clouds are expected throughout the day with high temperatures in the lower to middle 30s, with a southeast wind 5-10 mph.
If you have any evening plans, the weather will be pretty good. It’s not until after 9PM when light snow begins to track into our southern counties. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from Midnight to 6 PM Saturday for Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Keokuk and Washington counties.
The snow will continue to slowly move north overnight into Saturday morning, through about the Highway 20 corridor.
Light snow will continue throughout the day Saturday, mainly along and south of Highway 20. North of Highway 20, there may be a few flurries or patchy freezing drizzle, otherwise those areas will remain dry.
The snow wraps up by late afternoon and early evening. Areas of fog are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. Snowfall totals near Waterloo and Dubuque will be about a dusting to less than a half inch, with 2-4″ possible in our southern counties.
After Saturday, our weather remains relatively quiet throughout the week, with near to above normal temperatures.
