Lightning Kills 2 People

Two people, a male and a female, were killed by lightning Thursday afternoon in Pennsylvania. The report came from the Westmoreland County Emergency Management (southeast of Pittsburgh).

This now makes four people that have been killed this year because they were struck by lightning. There was one in Texas and one in Florida before today.

We will see more and more thunderstorms in the weeks to come here in Iowa. This is a good reminder if you hear thunder you should head inside. No place is safe from lightning outside.
