BIG Snow Drift

This might take awhile to clear. This is a photo showing a stop sign at the intersection of East Tama Road and Kober Rd, just west of La Porte City. Notice the stop sign is almost buried. According to the Iowa DOT, the base of a stop sign, on a rural road, is placed at a minimum of 5 feet above the road. This will give you an idea how high this snow drift is.

This is what 8″ of snow and wind gusts to 48 mph can produce.

The map below shows where the intersection is in relation to La Porte City.
