Daily Record Rainfall

No very often we are talking rain about rain in January. Usually this time of year the precipitation is in the form of snow and the snow is usually melted down to amounts less than 0.50″.

This was all rain today and two record were broken. They were in Dubuque and Cedar Rapids. The first map below shows how much snow was measured since midnight…no rain has fallen since the graphic was made at 5:41 PM. We are expected to be dry through midnight.

Here is a rough idea where the heavier snow fell in the last 24 hours.
