Two businesses told KWWL they are seeing more families and kids during the day. A big reason for that: snow days. Some districts in the viewing area have canceled school more than a half dozen times in the past month.
Funds raised that day go toward making the MDA Summer Camp at Camp Courageous possible, and also toward groundbreaking research, life-enhancing programs, and care at the MDA Care Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
