TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (KWWL) — The UNI men capped off a dominant weekend with three more event titles as the Panthers captured a second straight Missouri Valley Conference team track and field championship.
UNI opened the day with a ten point lead in the team race and immediately expanded it. Isaac Holtz started it with a throw of over 179 feet in the discus to win the event. Evan Long led a dominant Panther effort in the 400 meters. Long and Connor Blough finished 1-2 in the race that saw UNI take four of the top five spots. Connor Ham added a title in the 110 meter hurdles as the Panthers outpaced second place Illinois State by more than 50 points.
The UNI women picked up a title from Maddie McCalla in the 400 meters as the Panther women finished fourth in the team race. Illinois State won the team title.
