Dike-New Hartford sweeps past Independence

DIKE (KWWL) — Third ranked Dike-New Hartford baseball team topped Independence 5-0 and 14-4 to complete a sweep on Tuesday night.

Reece Beuter shut down the Mustangs tossing a shut-out in the opening game.

The Wolverines fell behind early in the nightcap. Marcus Beatty ripped a 2 RBI double in to the right-centerfield gap in the opening frame for a 2-0 lead. That lead held up until the third inning when the DNH bats woke up. After the Wolverines surged in to a 4-3 lead, Devon Kollasch sliced a double in to the right field corner plating two more runs. Tim Koop followed with a two-bag shot to deep left to add a couple more runs as the Wolverines put up eight runs to put it away in the inning.
