PHILADELPHIA (KWWL) — The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed former Iowa State star Marial Shayok to a two-way contract. The 76ers selected Shayok in the second round of this year’s NBA draft.
After playing at Virginia for three years, Shayok completed his final year of college at Iowa State where he helped the Cyclones to a Big 12 tournament championship. The senior led ISU in scoring with 18.7 PPG and earned First Team All-Big 12 honors.
Per NBA rules, Shayok will likely split time between Philadelphia and their G-League affiliate in Delaware. He can spend a maximum of 45 days with the parent club next season.
