WATERLOO (KWWL) — For nearly a quarter century, Tim Moses led the track squad at Waterloo East High School. That tenure ended at the conclusion of the state meet in Des Moines on Saturday.

East High played a significant role in Moses’ life. During his high school career, he starred in football, basketball, and track for the Trojans.

Twenty-five years ago, he began his career as an assistant coach at Logan Junior High. Two years later, he took over the East program and has been there ever since.

For Moses, who was honored in Des Moines on Saturday, for his 25 years of service, it was never about himself.

“To see the success of the kids that I had the opportunity to coach and work with has been an honor to make those connections and built those relationships,” said Moses, “At the end of the day it’s all about the kids. That’s been the reward for me.”

Moses will continue teaching and still plans on playing a role with the track squad.
