WATERLOO (KWWL) — Waterloo scored first, but couldn’t hold on in the end as 11th ranked Iowa City High escaped town with a 2-1 win on Friday night.
Waterloo opened the scoring in the first half as an Isabelle Stoffer cross snuck past the City keeper. Kayla Koch knocked home a point-blank shot for the finish and a quick 1-0 lead. City’s Samantha Schoder broke free and scored the equalizing goal just minutes before the half.
Midway through the second half Schroder struck again. The Little Hawk senior hit a nearly 30-yard, bending shot just under the cross-bar for the eventual game winning goal.
