PHOENIX (KWWL) — Iowa State receiver Hakeem Butler waited a bit longer than expected, but finally got the call Saturday morning. Butler went to Arizona as the first pick on the final day of the NFL Draft.

The Cardinals selected the Cyclone junior with their 4th round pick, making him the 103rd overall selection.

Butler earned All-American honors during his junior season in which he tallied 1,318 receiving yards to set an Iowa State single season record.

“Our entire program and the Iowa State community is thankful for everything Hakeem Butler accomplished as a Cyclone,” Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell said. “We can’t wait to see Hakeem continue to achieve success in the NFL.”

Butler leaves Iowa State ranking fourth in career receiving yards (2,149) and third in career touchdown receptions (18).
