Foster earns UNI’s first National Title in 19 years

PITTSBURGH (KWWL) — Drew Foster needed to do something special late, and the Panther senior delivered. Foster hit a move in the final 30 seconds to take down Cornell’s Max Dean and earn a 6-4 victory to grab a 184-pound NCAA championship. The title marked the first for UNI’s program in 19 years.

UNI’s last champion was Tony Davis who won in 2000 at 149 pounds.

The Panthers finished the meet in 13th in the team race, the highest finish so far under current head coach Doug Schwab.
