UNI women fall to Missouri State in Missouri Valley semis

MOLINE, Ill. (KWWL) — Missouri State outscored UNI 35-19 in a rough second quarter as the Bears knocked UNI out of the MVC tournament with an 89-64 win. The loss kept the Panthers from reaching the tournament final for the fourth straight season.

Missouri State took that early lead and built on it with an 11-0 start to the fourth quarter.

Danielle Gitzen led the Bears with 22 points in the win as Missouri State advanced to face Drake in Sunday’s final. Karli Rucker socred a team high 21 for UNI.

The Panthers sat at 20-12 at the end of the tournament and will be looking for a possible WNIT bid on selection Monday.
