Drew Foster repeats, Panthers take 3rd at Big 12 Championships

TULSA, Ok (KWWL) — Drew Foster just needed one takedown. The Panther 184 pounder took down Iowa State’s Sam Colbray in second period, added an escape and riding time, and captured his second straight Big 12 title with a 4-1 win.

Foster was UNI’s lone champion on Saturday night. In the only other Panther final, 174 pounder Taylor Lujan finished as a runner-up falling to Oklahoma State’s Jacobe Smith 6-4.

The Panthers finished third in the team race behind the Cyclones and champion Oklahoma State. Six UNi wrestlers earned automatic qualifying spots in the NCAA tournament.
