WATERLOO (KWWL) — Waterloo started out slow, but hit the afterburners as the Black Hawks rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to roll past Madison 6-2.
After falling behind by a pair of goals early, Waterloo finally got something going as Xander Lamppa redirected a hard Joe Casetti shot in the back of the net to pull within a goal at the first intermission. It was the first of two goaols on the night for Lamppa.
Emil Ohrvalle and Wyatt Schingoethe continued the offensive onslaught each adding a goal in the second period for the Black Hawks’ first lead of the night. Lamppa added his second, while Vladislav Firstov scored a pair in the final period to complete the blowout.
Waterloo faces rival Cedar Rapids in Young Arena on Saturday night.
