ISU’s Campbell named regional coach of the year

Iowa State head football coach MAtt Campbell was named the Region 4 Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association on Monday.

Campbell led his team to a second straight 8-win season. The Cyclones finished the 2018 regular season at 8-4 after opening the year with losses in three of their first four games.

The Iowa State coach signed a one-year contract extension last week that runs through the 2024 season.

Iowa State will face Washington State in the Alamo Bowl on December 28.
