The offseason is over — and in just four days — the swarm returns to Kinnick Stadium —

and it’s obvious the long wait has the 20th ranked Hawkeyes chomping at the bit —

“Go through the tunnel, it opens up — one of a kind — first time at Kinnick, all the fans are here — see the lights, see the scoreboard — I love night games here — you just see rows and rows of Hawkeye fans — you should be moving around, cause you’re excited — it’s just a different electricity — there’s really nothing better”

On Saturday — the season opens under the lights of Kinnick Stadium for the first time in program history —

It’s a moment — that can’t come soon enough for the Iowa Hawkeyes —

Levi Paulsen/Iowa Offensive Guard “Nine hard months now of offseason training — it’s an unbelievable feeling — I think all the guys are itching and ready to go after it.”

And that hard work has led to big expectations — an experienced group of Hawkeyes come in to the season ranked number 20 — and has their eyes fixed on the race in the big ten west — and they say they can’t buy in to the hype.

Nate Stanley/Iowa Quarterback  “Those preseason rankings that’s just that. What really matters is the rankings at the end of the year. We’re just doing everything that we can to make sure we’re in a position to win that Big Ten championship.”
