Waverly-SR beats Carlisle 8-5 in first round of 3A State Baseball Tournament

Waverly-Shell Rock returns to the 3A State Baseball tournament  for the first time since the Go-hawks won the state title three years ago…

In the first – they looked like a championship team – bases loaded for Carson Kallenberger as he knocks in a run -Waverly-SR out to a quick 2, nothing lead –

Next batter – Carter Langreck unloads the bases – with a double to the left centerfield – 3 runs score – go-hawks get six in the first –

But Carlisle comes back to make it a two run game – and gets another run in the third – on Dylan Berg’s RBI base hit – the second is thrown out at the plate – the Go-Hawks clinging to a 6 -5 lead.

Waverly-Shell Rock with a big fourth – Kallenberger with a two out two run double…..And the Go-Hawks beat the 4th ranked Wildcats 8 to 5 —
