Former Cyclone Burton signs two-way contract with Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed former Iowa State guard to a two-way contract on Saturday.

Burton spent most of the 2017-18 season with Wonju Dongbu Promy in South Korea’s professional league. He averaged 23.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists during 63 games in the past year.

Burton was the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year at Iowa State in 2016. He appeared in 61 total games as a Cyclone, averaging 12.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The Milwaukee native is likely to spend most of nest season on Oklahoma City’s G-League team, but can be called up to the Thunder for a maximum of 45 days per NBA two-way contract rules.
