LET IT SNOW: Waterloo preparing for snowfall

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – Many of you are waking up to snow Friday morning, and while you were sleeping, the city of Waterloo was busy preparing for the icy roads.

In fact, that preparation started long before Thursday night.

Sandie Greco with the City of Waterloo Public Works said the plows and snow rigs are installed.

Snow blowers are ready.

Staff is on call.

Greco said the salt was delivered over the past couple of weeks. She they also have sand in the city’s lot.

This is not the first snowfall of the season, but this is more widespread than the snow we saw on October 14.

If you’re on your way to work, watch out for patches of black ice on the roads. You may want to give yourself a few extra minutes.
