Guatemalan brothers sentenced for using fraudulent identification documents

Two Guatemalan brothers who share the same name, and who each used a fraudulent identification document, were sentenced today to more than two months apiece in federal prison.

Jacinto Raymundo-Rivera, 22, received the prison term after a May 23, 2018 guilty plea to one count of unlawful use of an identification document. At the guilty plea, Raymundo-Rivera, admitted that on October 8, 2014, he used a fraudulent Green Card when completing employment forms to get a job in Cedar Rapids. The social security account number and the Green Card number used by Raymundo-Rivera belonged to other people.

At the guilty plea, Raymundo-Rivera, admitted that on September 21, 2015, he used a fraudulent Green Card when completing employment forms to get a job in Cedar Rapids. The social security account number and the Green Card number used by Raymundo-Rivera belonged to other people. 

Both brothers were sentenced in Cedar Rapids and will each be serving 77 days imprisonment. Each brother must also serve a one-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
