Wisconsin authorities warn about “meth candy”

GRANT COUNTY, Wisconsin (KWWL) — Parents are being warned to be extra careful when inspecting their child’s Halloween candy.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, they have been seeing a large influx of methamphetamine coming into southwest Wisconsin. The Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force recently recovered meth disguised to look like candy.

Sheriff Nate Dreckman said this makes keeping this drug out of the hands of young people and adults even harder.

He added that besides the “meth candy,” parents should be on the lookout for candy products containing THC as other state’s begin to legalize the use of recreational marijuana.
