Iowa vs. Michigan

Michigan was unable to get anything going on offense after receiving the opening kick, going three and out.

Mekhi Sargent fumbled on the Hawks’ first play from scrimmage allowing Jake Moody to hit a 28 yard field goal to give the Wolverines an early 3-0 lead.

With Iowa stalling out quickly again on offense, Michigan kept it rolling with their second possession putting up seven more from a two yard rushing touchdown from Zach Charbonnet with 8:33 left to go in the first quarter.  The Wolverines lead 10-0.

Geno Stone give the Hawkeyes some momentum with an interception with just over six minutes left to play in the first quarter.

On the drive following the Stone interception Michigan was able to return the favor with an interception of their own from Josh Metellus. Stanley’s first interception in his last 140 pass attempts.

Keith Duncan puts Iowa on the board hitting a 22 yard field goal bringing the Hawks within 7 with 12:18 to go in the half.

A first half dominated by both defenses ends with Michigan leading 10 to 3.  Iowa will receive the kick off in the second half.

The domination continues as neither defense breaks in the third quarter.  Hawkeyes still trail 3-10 after the third quarter.

Iowa catches a break from Michigan’s Moody missing a 34 yard field goal to get their offense back on the field within one score with just over eleven minutes left to go in the game.

A game riddled with penalties, sacks, and turnovers, the Hawkeyes’ offense was unable to get anything going all day only putting up 3 points, and being shut out in the second half.  Iowa’s defense had quite a performance only allowing 10 points to Michigan, but i wouldn’t be enough.  Michigan wins 10-3.
