25th Cedar Valley Honor Flight taking off on Tuesday

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – The 25th Cedar Valley Honor Flight is leaving for Washington D.C. on Tuesday morning.

Veterans and their families will be visiting various war memorials and monuments throughout the day. Some call it the trip of a lifetime.

Organizers said many times, the veterans never got a special welcome home. On Tuesday night, the public can thank them for their service and greet them when they return. They’re scheduled to land at the Waterloo Regional Airport at 9:30 p.m.

Parking is free.
