ATKINS, Iowa (KWWL) – Bloomsbury Farm has chosen the Iowa Donor Network’s 25th anniversary logo as their 2019 corn maze theme, and their first annual The Great Pumpkin Run will draw a special guest to the farm in Atkins.
On September 21, Michael Kutcher will do a presentation after the run. Michael and his brother, actor Ashton Kutcher, and family lived outside of Amana growing up. He received a heart transplant at the age of 12 and will share his inspirational story with the crowd.
A portion of each ticket for the run that day will go to the Iowa Donor Network. Karen Petersen, owner of Bloomsbury Farm, is thrilled their theme for the maze this year centers around the the importance of organ donation.
“Their mission and vision is to inspire everyone to give the gift of life. Featuring them in our corn maze was something we felt could represent our shared commitment to helping those in need, and of course allow us to give back to such a great cause,” said Petersen.
The Great Pumpkin Run will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the 21st. It’s $45 to take part. Register here: https://runsignup.com/Race/Register/?raceId=72579&fbclid=IwAR0aW_WI4aCgpkepzer6Jn2jFiVBQPpHIv0uK10zRlwcc-BlfvQbC9AA3rk
