More charges filed following Vinton stabbing

VINTON, Iowa. (KWWL) – Two people are facing charges after police were called to a disturbance in Vinton.

Authorities responded to 604 F Ave. around 4 a.m. on Friday.

Before arriving on scene, an officer was flagged down by a male victim who had cuts on his arm and hand.

He was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries.

When officers arrived at 604 F Ave., they found two suspects who had been involved in a confrontation with the victim.

Misty Meister, 40, of Vinton and Wayne Kaplan, 46, of Shellsburg were arrested.

They’re facing several charges.

The assault is still under investigation.


UPDATE: August 30, Noon

Misty Meister, 40, of Vinton is facing additional charges following a stabbing.

A news release from the Vinton Police Department says Meister is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
