Bomb threat at Altoona Walmart, police confirm there were no explosives

ALTOONA, Iowa (KWWL) – The Altoona Police Department confirmed there were no explosives found at the Walmart on Eighth Street SW.

At 7:23 on Wednesday morning, police said the Altoona Walmart was evacuated after a bomb threat was called into the store.

The store was evacuated to ensure the customers’ safety during the investigation.

The Altoona Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and Probation Parole 5th District assisted with the investigation.
