Body recovered from Cedar River in Chickasaw County

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Iowa. (KWWL) – Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office says a woman’s body was pulled from the Cedar River following a report of a missing person in the water.

Deputies say the report came in on August 13 around 6:30 p.m.

Emergency crews were sent to Howard’s Woods Recreation Area north of Nashua to search the water and surrounding areas.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the body of Mikala Titus, 23, of Charles City was recovered from the Cedar River.

The body was sent to Ankeny for an autopsy.

The incident is still under investigation pending autopsy results.
