Officers involved in Chase, three juveniles in custody

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) – Police in Cedar Falls say they were involved in a chase August, 8th at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Officers say they were notified that the vehicle had been reported as suspicious. A press release shows that police attempted to issue a traffic stop near University Avenue and Main Street. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle did not stop, leading law enforcement on a pursuit that ultimately ended in the 1400 block of Center Street.

After being stopped by police, three juveniles were taken into custody. Officers say they later learned that the juveniles were suspected of stealing the vehicle in Waverly.

The driver of the vehicle is facing charges of Eluding Police, as well as a list of traffic charges that took place during the chase. All three juveniles are currently in the custody of the Waverly Police Department. Cedar Falls police says the suspect’s names will not be released at this time due to an ongoing investigation.
