SOLON, Iowa. (IOWA CITY PRESS-CITIZEN) – Lake Macbride State Park officials are warning visitors to not swim in the water.
According to Iowa City Press-Citizen, park officials detected higher levels of toxins last week indicating blue-green algae.
Officials issued the same warning though out the summer season last year because of higher levels of E. coli.
Officials say the blue-green algae could last for weeks, or it might have already passed.
The warning is issued for all beaches, although algae may not always be present at every beach.
