Motorcyclist injured after allegedly smashing into bus in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa. (KWWL) – Waterloo Police were called to an accident involving a motorcycle and a bus near Vinton St. around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say witnesses report seeing a bus stopped at a stop sign, when it began pulling forward through an intersection.

That’s when the motorcyclist was turning a corner and allegedly hit the back of the bus.

The driver told police he didn’t see the bus crossing the intersection.

Waterloo Police say there were about 15 students on the bus at the time of the crash. None of the students were injured.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital.

Police say he suffered multiple injuries, including abrasions to his diaphragm and possible multiple broken bones.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of incident.
