Wisconsin firefighter killed while responding to medical emergency

APPLETON, Wisconsin. (KWWL) – An Appleton firefighter was shot in killed in the line duty on Wednesday.

That’s according to a post on the Appleton Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The firefighter was shot, along with three other people while at the scene of a medical emergency.

The firefighter, a 14-year veteran of the department, later died at the hospital.

An Appleton police officer was also shot and is recovering at a local hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.
