CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) – At about 5 p.m. on April 10, an 18-year-old was arrested for multiple charges in Cedar Rapids.
Untario Devonte McGhee from Cedar Rapids was charged with possession of firearm by a felon, interference with official acts with a firearm, carrying weapons, stolen weapons trafficking, and revocation of probation.
McGhee had a lawful warrant for revocation of probation on the original charge of felon in possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
Police pinpointed McGhee as a passenger in a vehicle around the 1400 block of Bever Ave. SE. When police stopped McGhee, he was manageable with the police requests to show his hands. When officers approached the car, McGhee closed the door and locked it.
McGhee then reached into his waist and showed a handgun, but got rid of the gun to the seat next to him. Police were able to get in the car through a different door and take McGhee into custody with no other problems. McGhee was sent to the Linn County Jail.
The gun was a .40 caliber handgun that was stolen reported by the North Liberty Police Department.
