Operation Threshold announces assistance for flood victims

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – Disaster assistance is now available for flood victims in Black Hawk County.

Governor Reynolds’ disaster proclamation activated the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents and the Disaster Case Management Program.

For Black Hawk County, Operation Threshold in Waterloo helps administer the programs.

The Iowa Individual Assistance Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for households with a maximum annual income $41,560 for a family of three, or 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

These grants can be used for home and car repairs, replacement of clothing and property and the expense of temporary housing.

Disaster Case Management is available to all that have been affected by the flooding, regardless of income.

Those fitting the requirements have until May 6, 2019 to submit an application to Operation Threshold.
