Abandoned house destroyed in rural Linn County fire

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies say an abandoned home was destroyed by fire on Thursday.

A call for the fire came out around 5:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of North Marion Road in rural Alburnett, according to authorities. The Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Center Point Ambulance Service, and Alburnett, Central City, Coggon, Prairieburg and Monroe Fire Departments all joined sheriff’s deputies at the scene. The house is considered a complete loss, but authorities say no one was hurt and no livestock was affected by the fire.

A cause has not been made public.
