Former Rep. Walt Rogers running for District 30 seat

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) — Former state Rep. Walt Rogers is running to fill the vacant District 30 seat.

That seat is now empty, after Jeff Danielson stepped down due to ongoing controversy within the Cedar Falls Fire Department.

Rogers ran against Danielson in 2008, but lost. Rogers went on to win a seat in the Iowa House in 2011. He lost that seat in November to Dave Williams.

A special election date is scheduled for March 19th.
