Iowa man runs to raise awareness for homelessness

DES MOINES, Iowa—Most people would be exhausted after running just one marathon. For Mark Cooper, one marathon was not enough.

Over the course of one week, Cooper ran seven different marathons, in seven continents, in just seven days. He ran more than 180 miles and spent 63 hours flying.

The entire time, he was raising money for a cause he says affects people of all countries, homelessness. People across the country and world pledged donations in honor of Mark. More than $2,000 was pledged, all of it going to the Central Iowa Shelter and Services here in Iowa.

Cooper has finished a total of 82 marathons, including the 7 he just finished.
