Fairfield Police Officer accused of burglary

FAIRFIELD, Iowa (KWWL) — 31-year-old Ryan Mills is accused of burglary.

Iowa’s Division of Criminal Investigation says back in November, a veterinary clinic began to suspect shortages of a certain narcotic from their inventory.

Staff members say they saw Officer Ryan Mills enter and leave the clinic before it opened.

A short time later, Mills was interviewed and during a search of his personal property, evidence of the burglary was recovered.

The Fairfield Police Department immediately placed Mills on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.

Mills was charged with the crime of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.
