Burlington Powerball ticket wins $2 million

BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWWL) — The person who purchased a Powerball ticket at the Burlington Hy-Vee could be $2 million richer.

The numbers drawn Saturday matched those of a ticket bought at the supermarket. If claimed, it would be Iowa’s second big lottery winner in a month claimed Iowa Lottery officials.

The ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball. However, the buyer added the Power Play option to bring the winnings to the $2 million mark.

The Burlington ticket was the only one in the nation to win $2 million Saturday.

No one one matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, so the prize total climbs to an estimated $242 million annuity for Wednesday night’s drawing.
