Officers on scene of crash involving two cars, semi in Black Hawk County

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Police are responding to an accident involving two cars and a semi trailer-truck in the area of Independence Avenue and South Elk Run Road on Friday night.

Officers at the scene tell our KWWL crew that a car clipped the back of a semi traveling in the opposite direction, and then a second car collided with the original car. A call for the accident came out around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. It appeared as though both cars ended up in a roadside ditch after the collision, with at least one car taking on major damage. Officers could not immediately provide information on any injuries in the accident at the scene.

Traffic is currently being diverted in the area to one lane. This is a developing story, stay with KWWL on air and online as more information on the crash becomes available.
