Road closed after construction crews hit gas main in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa. (KWWL) – Dubuque Fire is responding to a report of hazardous material.

Crews got the call around noon today.

Authorities say construction crews hit a gas main on the north side of US 20 in front of Finnin Kia.

At this time, US 20 westbound is closed at the NW Arterial and eastbound US 20 is reduced to two lanes.

Crews say people should avoid traveling in the area and traffic will be diverted until at least 7 p.m.
