Two men arrested for multiple Bremer County burglaries

BREMER COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men for multiple October burglaries between Waverly and Denver.

36-year-old Benjamin Schiel, of Tripoli, was arrested November 27 by the Tripoli Police Department.  And arrest warrants were issued for 46-year-old Chad Lindquist, of North Liberty, who is currently being held in the Winneshiek County Jail for an unrelated offense.  Schiel is being held at the Bremer County Jail on a $5,500 bond.

Authorities say that between October 5 and October 25, they received multiple burglary reports from rural areas between the two cities.  This included thefts from vehicles and from two garages.  Schiel and Lindquist are allegedly responsible.

Both men are charged with 4 counts of 3rd degree burglary (2 “D” felonies and 2 aggravated misdemeanors). They also face 2 counts of 3rd degree theft, and 2 counts of 5th degree theft.
