Suspect arrested in Great Western Bank, Metro Mart robberies

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – Police arrested a suspect who allegedly committed a robbery at the Great Western Bank on University Avenue in Waterloo on Thursday.

According to police, through the investigation, they were able to develop a suspect vehicle description, which led officers to pull over a vehicle that matched that description on Friday.

Lucas R. Thompson, 34, was arrested for 2nd Degree Robbery for the robbery of the Great Western Bank. The police report says that additional evidence recovered in this investigation resulted in Thompson being changed with 1st Degree Robbery for the robbery that occurred on the 20th of October at the Metro Mart in Waterloo.

This is an ongoing investigation.
