Muscatine County Sheriff to retire December 2020

MUSCATINE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Muscatine County Sheriff C.J. Ryan will not run for re-election.

In a post to the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Facebook page, Sheriff Ryan announced he would be retiring and ending his term in December 2020 after nearly 35 years of serving the county.

Sheriff Ryan said he decided in the spring to retire, but made the choice public and people were announcing bids for election.

He added he is exploring new opportunities and will “do my best to enjoy life.”
