Ally Crutcher

From the Lone Star State to the Show Me State, I’m now happy to call the Cedar Valley my home!

I grew up in the northern suburbs of Dallas, Texas, where my family still resides. Some say journalism is a calling, and I found myself being summoned to the field at an early age.

I graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism (Go Tigers!) in Columbia, Missouri.

I spent two of my four years there as a reporter/anchor for the NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News. From politics to farming, I got a little taste of everything in the Columbia-Jefferson City market. I also spent a summer interning at the NBC affiliate in Dallas.

When I am not furiously editing and writing, I love to be outdoors. Biking, boating, Zumba, spin classes – I try to be active (especially with my sweet tooth!). Animals hold a special place in my heart, so I hope to spend a lot of my free time volunteering at local shelters.

Now, being in Iowa, I suppose the Midwest has charmed its way into keeping me a bit longer! I look forward to experiencing more "Midwestern" hospitality. I am always looking for fresh story ideas, so please don’t hesitate to send them my way. Great stories come in all shapes and sizes!
