Amanda Gilbert

Chicago-born and raised, Amanda is thrilled to be working in another Midwestern state!

She graduated from Northwestern’s Medill School in June 2015 and started working at KWWL in August 2015.

She fell in love with news during her junior year of high school while working at the school’s radio station with her friend. Amanda then went on to work as a reporter and news director for her college’s student-run television station.

Before coming to Iowa, Amanda worked as a reporter at WLNS in Lansing, Michigan, for two months as part of her school’s journalism residency program. She also interned in Chicago, California and St. Louis.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys swimming, going for walks and hanging out with friends or family. She has also been dancing since she was three.

Some of her favorite memories in college include being a part of Dance Marathon and performing with a fusion dance team.

Amanda loves meeting new people and hearing their stories! If you have any story ideas or would like to talk, feel free to reach out!
